Safety marking in radiation protection

Overview
This document applies to the marking of places and objects as well as to the application and execution of safety marking in plants and at facilities where or in the vicinity of which ionizing radiation occurs; for warning of radiation exposure by means of signs, barrier chains and warning stripes and for marking according to the German Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV) and the German X-ray Ordinance (RöV). Specifications on the dimensions and proportions of the radiation protection label are given in DIN EN ISO 361. This document does not apply to labeling in connection with the transport of radioactive materials in accordance with the German Ordinance on the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road, Rail and Inland Waterways (GGVSEB), the German Ordinance on the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea (GGVSee) and the German Civil Aviation Law (LuftVG). This document does not apply to labeling according to Section 52 of the German Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV). The responsible committee for this document is NA 062-07-61 AA "Terminologie und Grundlagen" ("Terminology and fundamentals") at DIN.
