Explosionsfähige Atmosphären - Teil 20-2: Werkstoffeigenschaften - Prüfverfahren für brennbare Stäube (ISO/IEC 80079-20-2:2016); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO/IEC 80079-20-2:2016
Overview
This standard describes test methods for determining whether a material has properties that shall be considered as combustible dust and for determining the properties of combustible dusts. This test method is applicable to the identification and classification of areas where explosive dust atmospheres and combustible dust layers are present to permit appropriate evaluation of potential equipment ignition sources to be used in the design and application of equipment for use in the presence of combustible dusts. The established test methods do not apply to: known explosives, gunpowder, dynamite, or substances or mixtures which - under certain conditions - behave in a similar manner; or dusts of explosives which do not require atmospheric oxygen for ignition, or self-igniting substances. The responsible committee for this draft standard is NA 095-02-09 AA "Kenngrößen für Stäube, Gase und Dämpfe" ("Test methods for determining the flammability characteristics of substances") at DIN.
