Dust emission of technical equipment - Basic method for determination of the dust emission rate of machines intended for the use on work tables
Staubemission technischer Arbeitsmittel - Basisverfahren zur Bestimmung der Staubemissionsrate von Maschinen zum Einsatz auf Arbeitstischen
Overview
The standard specifies a method for determining the dust emission rate of small table-top machines that can be operated as intended or in a practical manner using a test bench. The document applies, for example, to drilling machines, grinding machines, polishing machines, milling machines and blasting machines. Materials that can be processed with the aforementioned machines are, for example, metal alloys, casting compounds containing quartz, coated surfaces and work or natural stone surfaces. In the course of the revision of the previous edition of DIN 33896-1 from 1994, requirements were added (for example, on the height of the dust emission source) or deleted (for example, requirement for the use of a downstream fan) and the terminology and structure of the test report were adapted to DIN EN 1093-3. The committee responsible for preparation of the document is NA 095-03-01 AA at DIN Standards Committee Safety Design Principles (NASG).
