Artikel für Säuglinge und Kleinkinder - Sitzerhöhungen für Stühle; Deutsche Fassung EN 16120:2012+A2:2016
Overview
There are various kinds to allow children to eat at the family table. A chair mounted seat is often used instead of a high chair which is fixed on an adult chair and reduces the distance of the seat surface to the table top. DIN EN 16120 specifies safety requirements and test methods for chair mounted seats intended to be fixed on an adult chair to raise the sitting position of a child able to sit unaided up to an age of 3 years or a maximum weight of 15 kg. DIN EN 16120 has been prepared by CEN/TC 252 "Child use and care articles". The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 095-05-03 AA "Artikel für Säuglinge und Kleinkinder - Sitzen, Pflegen, Schützen, Liegen und Transportieren" ("Child use and care articles - Sitting, caring, protecting, laying and transporting") at the Safety Design Principles Standards Committee (NASG). The current edition of the standard contains amendments to Clause 3 (Terms), 4 (Test equipment), 6 (Chemical hazards), 7 (Thermal hazards), 8 (Mechanical hazards), 9 (Product information) as well as the provision of warnings in the European languages.
