DIN Standards Committee Safety Design Principles
DIN EN 1540
Workplace exposure - Terminology; Trilingual version EN 1540:2011
Exposition am Arbeitsplatz - Terminologie; Dreisprachige Fassung EN 1540:2011
Overview
The standard defines terms and definitions that are related to the assessment of workplace exposure to chemical and biological agents. These are both general terms and terms that are specific to air sampling, the analytical method or method performance. With respect to the previous 1998 edition, the structure of the document has been fundamentally revised and a large number of new terms has been supplemented. Detailed information on this subject can be found in the foreword of the European Standard. The underlying European Standard has been prepared by the ad hoc group "Definitions" operating across Working Groups of CEN/TC 137 "Assessment of workplace exposure to chemical and biological agents" (both secretariats: DIN). The responsible German standardization committee is NA 095-03-01 AA "Messstrategien und Anforderungen an Messverfahren" ("Measurement strategies and requirements for test methods") of NASG.
