Overview
The responsible Committee is Joint Working Committee NA 095-01-01 GA "Allgemeine Grundsätze und Terminologie" ("General principles and terminology") of the Safety Design Principles Standards Committee (NASG). This standard establishes general principles for the safety design of products in terms of relevant regulations and administrative provisions. In its function as VDE framework, this standard specifies basic safety requirements which are common for all types of electrical equipment. This standard serves as a basis for the content of safety standards and VDE Specifications, respectively. This standard applies for products, except those which fall into the scope of specific standards and the safety requirements of which are specifically dealt with in those standards (for example, DIN EN ISO 12100). This standard is not applicable for materials, auxiliary materials, in so far as they are not used for or in products, for semi-finished or prefabricated products which cannot be used independently, as well as for buildings.
