Funktionale Sicherheit sicherheitsbezogener elektrischer/elektronischer/programmierbarer elektronischer Systeme - Teil 1: Allgemeine Anforderungen (IEC 61508-1:2010); Deutsche Fassung EN 61508-1:2010
Overview
DIN EN 61508-1 (VDE0803-1) covers those aspects to be considered when electrical/electronic/programmable electronic (E/E/PE) systems are used to carry out safety functions. A major objective of this standard is to facilitate the development of appropriate International Standards for a certain application sector by the committee responsible for this application sector. This allows all the relevant factors associated with this application sector to be fully taken into account and thereby meet its specific needs. A dual objective of this standard is to enable the development of E/E/PE safety-related systems for which no International Standards yet exist with regard to its application sector. The responsible Committee is GK 914 "Funktionale Sicherheit elektrischer, elektronischer und programmierbarer elektronischer Systeme (E, E, PES) zum Schutz von Personen und Umwelt" ("Functional safety of electrical, electronic and programmable electronic systems (E, E, PES) for protection of persons and the environment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Informational Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
