DIN EN 13675
Safety of machinery - Safety requirements for tube forming and rolling mills and their finishing line equipment; German version EN 13675:2004+A1:2010
Sicherheit von Maschinen - Sicherheitsanforderungen an Rohrform- und -walzwerke und ihre Adjustageanlagen; Deutsche Fassung EN 13675:2004+A1:2010
Overview
This standard defines relevant requirements set out in Annex I of the new EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the European Economic Area (EEA) market for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with such requirements. Once this standard is designated a harmonized standard in the Official Journal of the European Communities, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (the so-called presumption of conformity). This document describes the health and safety requirements for fully automated plants used in the process of tube forming, rolling and finishing and seamless hot-finished tubes: from material charging downstream of the heating furnace through the rolling process and up to - but not including - any intermediate storage equipment or the downstream finishing lines; seamless cold-finished tubes: from material charging through the rolling process to the discharging equipment but not including any storage equipment; welded tubes: from coil charging through strip preparation, forming and welding equipment up to - but not including - any intermediate storage equipment or the downstream finishing lines; the tube finishing line: from tube charging to the discharging equipment to the storage. This standard contains the German version of EN 13675:2004+A1:2010 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 322 "Equipments for making and shaping of metals - Safety requirements" of the European Committee of Standardization (CEN). The following changes have been made with respect to DIN EN 13675:2004: a) The applicable new requirements of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC have been taken into account. b) EN 294, EN 418, EN 563 and EN 954-1 have been replaced by the corresponding EN ISO standards. c) New standards have been taken into account: EN 842, EN 981, EN ISO 7731 and ISO 3864-1. d) The control category according to EN 964-1 has been replaced by the performance level in combination with the control category according to EN ISO 13849-1. e) The informative Annex ZA on the relationship between this European Standard and the Essential Requirements of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC has been amended. The national interests during the preparation of this standard were represented by Committee NA 060-02-03 AA "Walzwerksanlagen" ("Moulding and core making machinery") of Technical Section "Equipments for making and shaping of metals" of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. Manufacturers' representatives and users of moulding and core making machinery, as well as representatives of professional and trade associations were involved in the preparation of the standard.
