DIN EN 838
Workplace exposure - Procedures for measuring gases and vapours using diffusive samplers - Requirements and test methods; German version EN 838:2010
Exposition am Arbeitsplatz - Messung von Gasen und Dämpfen mit Diffusionssammlern - Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren; Deutsche Fassung EN 838:2010
Overview
This document specifies performance requirements and test methods under prescribed laboratory conditions for the evaluation of diffusive samplers used for the determination of gases and vapours in workplace atmospheres. The standard applies to diffusive samplers and the associated measurement methods where sampling and analysis are carried out separately. The revision of the previous European edition which had been published in 1995 and which had been prepared by Working Group 2 "Allgemeine Anforderungen an Messverfahren" ("General requirements for measurement methods") of CEN/TC 137 "Assessment of workplace exposure to chemical and biological agents" (both secretariats: DIN) has become necessary in order to adapt the existing European Standard (EN) to the changed general requirements, on the one hand, and to the modified model for the estimation of measurement uncertainty, on the other (cf. DIN EN 482:2006-10). The responsible German standardization committee is NA 095-03-01 AA "Messstrategien und Anforderungen an Messverfahren" ("Measurement strategies and requirements for test methods") of NASG.
