Ventilation systems on ships - Discharge ventilator cowls
Lüftungsanlagen auf Schiffen - Düsenlüfterköpfe
Overview
On seagoing ships, so-called discharge ventilator cowls are used for ventilation in ventilation systems as outside air inlet or as outlet air outlet. The discharge ventilator cowls shown in DIN 82342 correspond to the shape A, not lockable and shape B, weatherproof sealable. A locking system (angle drive) with hand crank is shown in DIN 82342, although other locking systems are possible and permissible. The dimensions and masses for shape A and shape B are shown in a table for the nominal widths of 100 mm to 1 800 mm. The requirement for the material to be used was taken into account that a weldable steel with a minimum tensile strength of R = 360 N/mm2 is to be used or optionally an at least comparable or better grade of the manufacturer. Further requirements are the surface treatment, dimensions for the drainage pipes and also fixation of the inspection openings. The constructions of the shutter of the fan heads are subject to acceptance by a classification society. This standard has been prepared by the DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT), Working Committee NA 132-02-03 AA "Lüftungs-, Klima- und Kältetechnik" ("Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning").
