Thermal cutting - Boring with oxygen lance in mineral materials - Bases of process, temperatures, minimum accessories
Abstract
Thermal cutting of concrete and rock is versatile and complements conventional mechanical cutting methods in the construction industry. The execution of flame drilling with the oxygen lance requires expertise in order to be able to work economically and safely.
The document specifies the minimum equipment and personal protective equipment for oxygen lances (core lances) with an outer diameter of 4 mm or more.
By specifying the process principles and the temperatures proven by tests, the possibilities of thermal separation processes for the materials concrete and rock are shown and the assessment for their use is facilitated.
Compared to DIN 32510:2008-05, the content has been adapted to the current state of the art and editorially revised. This document is applicable for flame drilling with oxygen lances (core lances) in mineral materials. It can be used for oxygen lances with outer diameters from 4 mm and can also be applied to metallic and non-metallic materials. The joint committee DIN/DVS NA 092-00-20 AA "Schneidtechnik (DVS AG V 5)" in DIN is responsible for this document.
