Constancy testing of nuclear medicine instruments - Part 11: Radionuclide calibrators (IEC/TR 61948-4:2006, modified)
Konstanzprüfung nuklearmedizinischer Messsysteme - Teil 11: Aktivimeter (IEC/TR 61948-4:2006, modifiziert)
Overview
This standard covers constancy testing of radionuclide calibrators used in nuclear medicine. These devices use shaft ionization chambers with a direct display in the unit for the activity and radionuclide factors digitally stored in the device. The requirements and the specific procedures for determining the performance characteristics are described in DIN EN 61303. However, these are procedures that are mainly intended for acceptance tests. The standard contains the modified translation of the Technical Report IEC/ TR 61948-4:2006 "Nuclear medicine instrumentation - Routine tests - Part 4: Radionuclide calibrators", which was based on a German proposal. The modifications mainly refer to formal adaptations. The technical content was adopted almost unchanged. The international document has been prepared by Subcommittee SC 62C "Equipment for radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and radiation dosimetry" of Technical Committee 62 "Electrical equipment in medical practice" of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The standards have been prepared at Working Committee NA 080-00-13 GA "Nuklearmedizin" ("Nuclear medicine") of DIN Standards Committee Radiology (NAR).
