DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering

Overview

This standard applies for fully fitted hose assemblies consisting of hoses of the types 1ST, 1SN, 2ST and 2SN according to DIN EN 853, * 1TE, 2TE and 3TE according to DIN EN 854, 4SP, 4SH, R13 (nominal diameter 31, 38 and 51) according to DIN EN 856, R15 (nominal diameter 25, 31 and 38) according to ISO 3862 and 1SC and 2SC according to DIN EN 857 which are suitable for permanent temperatures of -40 °C to +100 °C (hose types R13 and R15 up to 120 °C) and light duty and heavy duty hose fittings according to DIN ISO 12151-2 and DIN ISO 12151-3. It specifies the most important characteristics for the selection and classification of hoses and fittings, the most important installation and connecting dimensions and requirements for the installation of hoses. By a comparison of the corresponding tubes in Table 1 and Table 2, it also provides the designer with guidelines for the selection of hoses (nominal diameter and design) and for the suitable fitting if piping of a system has already been specified. This standard also provides guidelines for storage, utilization period and inspections necessary during this time for maintaining functionality of the hoses. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 060-36-40 AA "Rohr- und Schlauchleitungen sowie Verbindungselemente" ("Tube and hose assemblies and connecting components"). Representatives of the manufacturers and users of pipe and hose assemblies and connecting elements were involved in the preparation.
