Air regulation systems for mining - Travel-way air locks with pressure-relief air doors
Wetterbauwerke für den Bergbau - Fahrwegschleusen mit druckentlasteten Wettertüren
Overview
Mine workers in mines have to be supplied with fresh air. The air flows are guided and controlled by means of air regulation systems. Air doors are openings in these structures that are used for the passage of people (travel way) or for production (haulage tracks). This standard specifies the requirements for pressure-relieved air doors in travel-way airlocks in underground coal mines. They enable safe passage through the travel-way airlock, particularly in the case of a high pressure gradient. The national interests in the preparation of the standard have been represented by the committee NA 060-15-06 AA "Bewetterungsanlagen" ("Mine ventilation systems") at the Section Mining equipment of DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of the manufacturers and users of mine ventilation systems and of the employers' liability insurance associations were involved in the preparation.
