Overview
This Technical Specification contains a compilation of interpretations referring to the EN 81 standard series (see DIN CEN/TR 81-10:2008). In a second step, this document contains interpretations to EN 81-1:1998, EN 81-2:1998, EN 81-28:2003, EN 81-58:2003, EN 81-70:2003, EN 81-72:2003 and EN 81-73:2005. Interpretations of other standards of the EN 81 standard series will be incorporated as soon as they are available. Interpretations serve to improve the understanding of the clauses they relate to and thus to facilitate a common understanding between manufacturers, assemblers, notified bodies, supervision points and national authorities. Interpretations do not have the same status as the standards they refer to. However, application of interpretations provides the interested parties with security that the corresponding standard has not been incorrectly applied. This Technical Specification contains the German version of CEN/TS 81-11:2011 which has been prepared by Technical Committee 10 "Lifts, escalators and moving walks" of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). During the preparation of the standard, the national interests were represented by Working Committee NA 060-33-01 AA "Aufzüge" ("Lifts") of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of manufacturers and users of lifts as well as representatives of professional and trade associations were involved in the preparation of the standard.
