DIN 14674
Fire detection and fire alarm systems - System interconnection
Brandmeldeanlagen - Anlagenübergreifende Vernetzung
Overview
This document (DIN 14674) contains minimum requirements for the networking of fire detection and fire alarm systems with other fire protection systems and external systems, for instance, access control systems (ACS), video surveillance systems, fault indicator systems, time recording systems, lighting control systems, heat control, building management system (BMS), process control engineering (PCE), intrusion alarm systems/hold-up alarm systems (IAS/HUAS), elevator controls. This standard applies in conjunction with DIN VDE 0833-2 (VDE 0833-2). This standard does not apply for the networking of systems with similar functions (for example, networking of fire detection systems). The standard addresses fire detection and fire alarm systems, building's technical installations and the security industry and establishes the conditions necessary for planning and execution security. This standard closes a gap, as so far no regulation exists for the interconnection of FDS with other technical systems, taking into account system functionality. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-02-01 AA "Brandmelde- und Feueralarmanlagen" ("Fire detection and fire alarm systems") at DIN.
