Food processing machinery - Salad dryers - Safety and hygiene requirements

Abstract

This European standard specifies the safety and hygiene requirements for the design and manufacture of salad dryers. This standard only concerns: - machines which are used in the commercial and institutional catering industry;- salad dryers having a nominal output below 2000 W. The machines concerned by this standard are those appliances which are intended for eliminating by spinning the water present on lettuce leaves after washing. These machines can also be used for spinning other salad vegetables such as spinach, watercress, radish, French beans, raw potatoes, etc.
