Overview
Noise from heating systems can result in substantial annoyance in rooms requiring protection or in the neighbourhood. That is why this guideline recommends measures for reduction of the transmission of noise. This guideline deals with the description of the noise emission in the installation room of the heat generator, in the exhaust gas pipe and at the exhaust pipe outlet. It contains recommendations for constructional noise control and measures for noise reduction to be complied with at the design and construction stage of heating systems. The directive is directed at designers, component manufacturers, system builders, installation companies, owners and operators. The present edition of VDI 2715 is an editorially revised version of the August 2005 edition of VDI 2715, in accordance with the requirements for a five-yearly review set out in VDI 1000. The content has been adapted to the currently valid technical regulations. There has been no technical revision of the content of the August 2005 edition. The structure has been updated in accordance with the provisions of VDI 1000. The present guideline has been prepared by a Joint Committee of the German Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering Standards Committee (NALS) in DIN and VDI and the VDI Society Civil Engineering and Building Services, Technical Division Building Services (VDI-TGA).
