Acoustics - Noise emissions from road distribution and delivery processes - Part 1: Classification and application of low-noise logistics
Abstract
This document introduces a classification system for the ease of handling noise emissions from delivery processes, including loading and unloading operations in the field of road-bound distribution logistics. The classification encompasses operations of both low-noise logistics and conventional logistics, such as those involving diesel-powered lorries. This document provides recommended emission approaches for acoustic forecasting for these operations. Example cases illustrate the possibilities and limitations of delivery near noise-sensitive residential neighbourhoods. This document is applicable for the determination of noise emission values in the domains of retail and warehouse logistics, as well as similar processes. This document is not applicable for type or design testing of vehicles and equipment.
