Title (German)

Mikrobiologie der Lebensmittelkette - Horizontales Verfahren für den Nachweis und die Zählung von Listeria monocytogenes und von Listeria spp. - Teil 2: Zählverfahren (ISO 11290-2:2017); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 11290-2:2017

Overview

This document specifies a horizontal method for - the enumeration of L. monocytogenes, and - the enumeration of Listeria spp. (including L. monocytogenes). This document is applicable to - products intended for human consumption and for the feeding of animals, and - environmental samples in the area of food production and food handling. It is possible that certain additionally described Listeria species may not be enumerated or confirmed by this method. Within the limits of this document, the enumeration of L. monocytogenes and of Listeria spp. requires five successive steps: 1. The initial dilution is prepared with a diluent suitable for the type of sample; 2. The test sample is plated on Listeria agar ar according to Ottaviani and Agosti; 3. Incubation; 4. Presumptive L. monocytogenes and/or presumptive Listeria spp. colonies are confirmed by appropriate morphological and/or biochemical tests. The standards committee NA 057-01-06 AA "Mikrobiologie der Lebensmittelkette" ("Microbiology of the food chain") at DIN Standards Committee Food and Agricultural Products (NAL) is responsible for this standard.
