DIN EN 16195
Fertilizers - Determination of chlorides in the absence of organic material; German version EN 16195:2012
Düngemittel - Bestimmung von Chlorid bei Abwesenheit organischer Stoffe; Deutsche Fassung EN 16195:2012
Overview
The standards DIN EN 16195 to DIN EN 16199 have been prepared under the mandate M/335 given to CEN by the European Commission to validate the test methods specified in Annex IV of Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003 relating to fertilizers, adapt them to the state of the art and to publish them as European Standards. The documents were initially published on the national level as Technical Specifications. After corresponding acceptance CEN/TC 260 decided to adopt these Technical Specifications as European Standards under the Unique Acceptance Procedure (UAP). DIN EN 16195 specifies a method for the determination of chlorides in the absence of organic material. The method is applicable to all fertilizers which are free from organic material. DIN EN 16196 specifies a method for manganimetric determination of calcium in fertilizer extracts following precipitation. DIN EN 16197 specifies a method for the determination of magnesium in fertilizer extracts using atomic absorption spectrometry. This method is alternatively applicable to EC fertilizer extracts containing element sets which might interfere with the magnesium by complexometry (see DIN EN 16198). DIN EN 16198 specifies a method for the determination of magnesium in fertilizer extracts by complexometry. DIN EN 16199 specifies a method for the determination of the sodium content in fertilizer extracts by flame-emission spectrometry. The methods are applicable to EC fertilizers according to Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003 relating to fertilizers, Annex I. The DIN SPEC pre-standards have been prepared by CEN/TC 260 "Fertilizers and liming materials" (secretariat: DIN). The national mirror committee is Working Committee NA 057-03-02 AA "Düngemittel" ("Fertilizers") of NAL.
