Fertilizers - Extraction of soluble phosphorus according to Petermann at ambient temperature; German version EN 15922:2011

Title (German)

Düngemittel - Extraktion des löslichen Phosphors nach Petermann bei Raumtemperatur; Deutsche Fassung EN 15922:2011

Overview

The European Standards DIN EN 15919 to DIN EN 15923 have been prepared under the mandate M/335 given to CEN by the European Commission to validate the test methods specified in Annex IV of Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003 relating to fertilizers, to adapt them to the state of the art and to publish them as European Standards. The methods were validated in a European inter-laboratory test with 22 participating laboratories from the participating CEN member countries. The extraction methods were initially published as a Technical Specification and have now been adopted as European Standards under the Unique Acceptance Procedure (UAP). The standard DIN EN 15919 specifies a procedure for the extraction of phosphorus soluble in 2 % formic acid. The procedure is applicable to soft natural phosphates exclusively. The standard DIN EN 15920 specifies a procedure for the extraction of phosphorus soluble in 2 % citric acid. The procedure is applicable only to types of basic slag in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003, Annex I A. The standard DIN EN 15921 specifies a procedure for the extraction of soluble phosphorus in alkaline ammonium citrate. The procedure is applicable exclusively to precipitated dehydrated dicalcium phosphate. The standard DIN EN 15922 specifies a procedure for the extraction of phosphorus soluble in cold alkaline ammonium citrate (Petermann's solution). The procedure is applicable for disintegrated phosphates exclusively. The standard DIN EN 15923 specifies a procedure for the extraction of phosphorus soluble in Joulie's alkaline ammonium citrate. The procedure is applicable to all the straight and compound phosphate fertilizers in which the phosphate occurs in an alumino-calcic form. The extracts prepared according to the given extraction procedures are the basis for the determination of phosphorus in accordance with CEN/TS 15959. The European Standards have been prepared by CEN/TC 260 "Fertilizers and liming materials" (secretariat: DIN, Germany). National Mirror Committee is Working Committee NA 057-03-02 AA "Düngemittel" ("Fertilizers") at the NAL.
