Compressed air - Energy efficiency - Assessment (ISO 11011:2013); German version EN ISO 11011:2015
Druckluft - Energieeffizienz - Bewertung (ISO 11011:2013); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 11011:2015
Overview
This standard has been prepared to support the objectives of energy management for those organizations utilizing compressed air and wishing to improve the energy efficiency of such systems. The starting point is - the ability to produce air with the least amount of energy - to transmit energy from the point of generation to the point of use with the least loss - to eliminate waste and use the least amount of air for the production process. The standard specifies requirements for the performance and results report of a compressed air system assessment. The focus is on the entire compressed air system with its three functional subsystems: - generation (conversion to compressed air energy); - transmission (movement of compressed air from generation to use); - consumption (all compressed air consumers). The focus is on in-depth energy analysis over a longer measurement period. This standard also defines requirements: - for data analysis of measurements; - for documentation of test results; - for identification of an energy saving estimate based on the test process. It identifies the roles and responsibilities of those involved in the investigation activity. This standard provides model information, for example in the form of lists in the annexes on the type of data to be collected. This standard contains the German version of EN ISO 11011:2015 which has been prepared by has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 118 "Compressors and pneumatic tools, machines and equipment", in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 232 "Compressors, vacuum pumps and their systems" at the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The national interests during the preparation were represented by Committee NA 060-08-16 AA "Luftkompressoren" ("Air compressors") at Technical Section "Compressors and pneumatic tools" at the Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of the manufacturers of components for compressed air systems were involved in its preparation.
