Overview

This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 053-01-09 AA "Begriffe im Rettungswesen" ("Terms and definitions for medical rescue services") at DIN Standards Committee Rescue Services and Hospital (NARK) and specifies terms and definitions for the medical rescue services. The statutory provisions of the European Union, the Federation and the States take preference over the terms given in this standard. The following changes were made with respect to DIN 13050:2009-02: a) the following terms were newly introduced: intensive care transport system, intensive care transport vehicle, emergency medical technician, pre-clinical care time, intensive care patient, emergency medical networks, psycho-social emergency care, urgent psycho-social assistance, psycho-social prevention in deployment, psychological first aid, preliminary inspection; b) the following terms were deleted: transportability, catastrophe medicine, EMT instructor; c) the following terms were subdivided: helicopter intensive care medical service into intensive care helicopter and helicopter intensive care medical service and helicopter emergency medical service into emergency helicopter and helicopter emergency medical service; d) the term coordination centre was added and subdivided into integrated coordination centre (previously 3.15) and rescue coordination centre; e) the numbering was changed as required by both newly introduced and deleted terms; f) the remaining terms were revised both technically and editorially.
