Sauerstoff-Konzentratoren für medizinische Zwecke - Sicherheitsanforderungen - Änderung 1 (ISO 8359:1996/Amd 1:2012); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 8359:2009/A1:2012
Overview
DIN EN ISO 8359 specifies safety requirements for continuous-flow oxygen concentrators. The standard does not apply to oxygen concentrators intended to supply gas to several patients via a piped medical gas installation. This amendment supplements the standard with requirements which focus on fire protection when oxygen concentrators are used in domestic environments. These requirements provide relevant instructions for use, additional requirements on the device and the accessories as well as associated checks. The amendment has been prepared by ISO/TC 121/SC 3 "Lung ventilators and related equipment" (secretariat: ANSI, USA) in collaboration with CEN/TC 215 "Respiratory and anaesthetic equipment" (secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom). The responsible German committee is NA 053-03-01 AA "Anästhesie und Beatmung" ("Anaesthesia and artificial respiration") at the Rescue Services and Hospital Standards Committee, NARK.
