Overview
The standard specifies requirements for transfer and receiving systems of active anaesthetic gas scavenging systems intended to reduce exposure of healthcare personnel to anaesthetic gases and vapours while providing patient protection. Amendment 1 has been incorporated into the new edition of the standard. Through Amendment 1, the specifications for the pressure under single fault conditions, the specifications at the inlet of transfer systems and the specifications for hoses used in receiving systems have been revised. The standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 121 "Anaesthetic and respiratory equipment" (secretariat: ANSI, USA) in cooperation with CEN/TC 215 "Respiratory and anaesthetic equipment" (secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom). The responsible German Committee is Working Committee NA 053-03-01 AA "Anästhesie und Beatmung" ("Anaesthesia and respiration") of the Rescue Services and Hospital Standards Committee (NARK).
