Assistive products - Hoists for the transfer of persons - Requirements and test methods
Abstract
ISO 10535 specifies requirements and test methods for lifts and body support systems intended for the transfer of persons with disabilities according to ISO 9999. The requirements of this document are formulated with regard to the needs of both the person with disabilities being lifted and the accompanying person using the lifts. This document does not apply to devices that transfer people between two levels (floors) of a building. It does not include procedures for determining the ageing or corrosion of such lifts and units and it does not include procedures for qualifying individual units prior to use. The planned amendment is intended to bring the directive into line with the European legal framework in relation to the Medical Devices Regulation. With the present amendment A11 the standard will be adapted to the Medical Devices Regulation.
