Surface boxes and ground plates – Part 2: Surface boxes of plastic with parts made of metal – Requirements and tests
Abstract
This document is applicable to plastic surface boxes for gas, water, district heating and wastewater pipes. NOTE: This does not include shaft covers. Surface boxes are required to protect and close off the operating points of the valves installed in the ground. These surface boxes are labelled to make it easier to identify the corresponding valves for the gas , water , district heating and wastewater networks, as well as their function. In addition, surface boxes are used for pipeline components that are used for control and measurement purposes, for example.
