Pressure regulators for LPG and safety devices - Part 1: Requirements
Abstract
This standard applies in conjunction with the European standard DIN EN 16129. It sets forward specifications for the use of the pressure regulators in Germany, the requirements and operating conditions for liquefied gas pressure regulators and their safety devices, for the application purposes as described in the standard. This refers particularly to the following points: • connections; • number of expansion stages with fixed intermediate pressures in the case of multi-stage expansion; • factory set regulated pressure; • pressure stages of the individual devices or device parts; • type and setting of the necessary safety devices; • specific construction criteria on the connection of breathing/relief lines; • marking/instructions; • adaptors for connection to self-closing valves G.59 according to DIN EN 15202; • Requirements for the construction and testing of pressure regulators, directly connected to a liquefied gas tank - Ice hydrate formation. In addition, this standard applies to: • anti-leakage devices intended for the installation of hose assembly according to DIN 4815-6 and which may be operated with liquefied gas according to DIN 51622 in the vapor phase with a regulated pressure of up to 4 bar and an operating temperature range between -20 °C and +50 °C; • pressure relief valves, integral or auxiliary installed with the pressure regulator on the low pressure side (50 mbar). Anti-leakage devices which are to be operated at a pressure of more than 4 bar may be tested in accordance with this standard.
