Overview
The standard DIN EN ISO 11979-4 contains requirements and guidance for the labelling of intraocular lenses and the information supplied with them. It is part of a comprehensive standard series, DIN EN ISO 11979, for intraocular lenses. DIN EN ISO 11979-4 is directed at all experts dealing with intraocular lenses, especially among manufacturers and users, that is, ophthalmologists working in cataract surgery. Within the framework of the currently available Amendment information necessary for toric intraocular lenses have been supplemented. The amendment to the standard DIN EN ISO 11979-4:2009-03 has been prepared by ISO/TC 172/SC 7 "Ophthalmic optics and instruments" (secretariat: DIN, Germany) with German collaboration. The responsible committee at DIN is Working Committee NA 027-01-20 AA "Intraokulare Medizinprodukte" ("Intraocular medical devices") at NAFuO.
