Testing of wood adhesives and glued wood joints - Mechanical delamination tests by grooving and chopping
Prüfung von Holzklebstoffen und Holzklebungen - Bestimmung der Bindefestigkeit von Lagenklebungen durch Aufstechprüfung und Aufspaltprüfung
Overview
This standard for testing wood adhesives specifies mechanical delamination tests by grooving and chopping. The grooving is used for plywood and plyboard as well as formwork panels. The chopping can be used to determine the bonding strength of ply bonds in laminated veneer lumber, veneer plywood, solid wood panels and cross laminated timber, insofar as this is not regulated in European standards. Compared to DIN 53255:1964-06, the title has been changed and the determination of the bonding strength of veneer plywood by tensile shear test has been deleted; this is now listed in DIN EN 314-1 and the requirements are listed in DIN EN 314-2. The grooving for determining the bonding quality of laminated veneer lumber, plywood, solid wood panels and cross laminated timber has been added. This standard has been revised by Working Committee NA 042-04-05 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Holzklebung" ("Mirror committee for CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Wood adhesives") at DIN Standards Committee Timber and Furniture (NHM).
