DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering

Overview

This document specifies the design requirements for lightweight scaffolding spindles and regulates their structural safety verification. It also serves to determine the resistances and stiffnesses of lightweight steel scaffolding spindles with rolled or rolled-on threads that are used as components of working scaffolds (see DIN EN 12811-1), shoring (see DIN EN 12812) and other temporary structures for height compensation at the base or top of a scaffold. This document does not apply to scaffolding spindles with machined threads. The responsible committee for this standard is NA 005-11-05 AA "Arbeits- und Schutzgerüste und Gerüstbauteile (SpA zu CEN/TC 53/WG 1 bis WG 4, WG 10, WG 13 bis WG 15)" ("Service and working scaffolds and scaffolding components (mirror committee to CEN/TC 53/WG 1 to WG 4, WG 10, WG 13 to WG 15)") at DIN.
