Title (German)

Firmenneutrale Datenkommunikation für die Gebäudeautomation und Gebäudemanagement - Gebäude-Netzwerk-Protokoll - Teil 2: Kommunikation über paarig verdrillte Leitungen; Englische Fassung EN 14908-2:2014

Overview

This European Standard DIN EN 14908-2 is part of a series of standards dealing with the communication system Building Network Protocol (CNP) which is based on LonWorks technology. This standard series specifies both the hardware and software which are necessary for the operation of the communication system. There will be other parts which describe the functions, profiles and conformity tests. DIN EN 14908-2 specifies, as a medium for communication, the twisted-pair channel as part of the physical layer. This includes the description of the electric properties for both networks with free-topology and networks with bus topology and of the requirements for supplying smaller equipment with electrical energy via the bus lines (link power). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 041-03-68 AA "Gebäudeautomation und -kommunikation (SpA CEN/TC 247/WG 4)" ("Building automation and communication (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 247/WG 4)") of the Heating and Ventilation Technology Standards Committee (NHRS) at DIN.
