Overview

This standard is applicable for the installation and monitoring of temporary and permanent ground anchors. It deals with anchors that can be stressed and tested in accordance with EN ISO 22477-5. The planning and design of ground anchors calls for experience and knowledge in this specialised field. Design aspects are dealt with in EN 1997-1, Eurocode 7: Geotechnical design - Part 1: General rules. This standard does not address other anchoring methods such as tension piles, screw anchors, mechanical anchors, soil nails, expander anchors or tendons with anchor walls.
