DIN 4107-4
Geotechnical measurements - Part 4: Measurements with pressure cells
Geotechnische Messungen - Teil 4: Druckkissenmessungen
Overview
This standard applies for measurements of the stress change in soil, rock and on buildings with pressure cells within the framework of geotechnical investigations according to DIN EN 1997-2 in connection with DIN EN 1997-2/NA and DIN 4020 as well as DIN EN 1997-1 in connection with DIN EN 1997-1/NA and DIN 1054. It describes methods for measurement of stress changes where pressure cells are installed in stationary and irrecoverable manner within the stressed object or in the contact area between two objects. Knowledge of these stress changes can serve for control of static assumptions and is of vital importance for assessing the stability of the structure. Methods where stresses are derived from measurements of other physical quantities are not covered by this standard. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-05-09 AA "Baugrund; Feldversuche (SpA zu CEN/TC 341/WG 2, WG 3 und WG 5)" ("Subsoil; field tests (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 341/WG 2, WG 3 and WG 5)") at DIN.
