Overview
This document applies for clay masonry units according to DIN EN 771-1 which are used as masonry units for load-bearing and non-loadbearing masonries, mainly for building external and internal walls. This standard specifies the requirements for clay masonry units which shall additionally be met by clay masonry units which have been CE marked according to DIN EN 771-1 and which shall be used directly for masonry according to DIN 1053-4 and EN 1996, in order to be applied without considering the application rules in DIN V 20000-401. DIN 4103-1 applies for internal non-loadbearing partitions. This standard applies only for the following Category I masonry units according to DIN EN 771-1: - LD units: vertically perforated or hollow clay masonry units, horizontally perforated or hollow clay masonry units; - HD units: solid units, vertically perforated or hollow clay masonry units, facings, facing vertically perforated or hollow clay masonry units, solid clinkers, vertically perforated clinkers, high-strength bricks and clinkers, ceramic clinkers, horizontally perforated or hollow clay masonry units. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-06-13 AA "Mauerziegel" ("Clay masonry units") at DIN.
