Overview
DIN V 18599-9 describes methods for assessing the power generation which are directly linked in a spatial context with the building: cogenerated heat and power (CHP), photovoltaics and wind turbines. In the case of cogeneration, DIN V 18599-9 contains a general calculation approach for units of any size and a special approach for micro-combined heat and power plants. The wind turbine generator systems described in this document, including indication of default values, are small systems as they may be present during self-generation and use of power in connection with buildings. Similar applies to photovoltaics. DIN V 18599-9 describes a method by which the electric energy - which is produced from building-integrated or additive photovoltaic systems and linked in a spatial context with the building - is calculated. This method assumes shade-free sites. Shadings may be caused by neighbouring buildings, other parts of buildings (dormers, chimneys, building projections, etcetera) or plants. Shadings on-site necessitate professional planning. If other or deviating detection methods or planning procedures for the above-mentioned techniques are used it shall be ensured that these detection methods provide equivalent results under comparable boundary conditions (see DIN V 18699-10, among others). The presumptions and boundary conditions on which these other detection methods are based shall be specified comprehensibly and recorded. DIN V 18599-9 has been approved by NA 005-56-20 GA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss NABau/FNL/NHRS: Energetische Bewertung von Gebäuden" ("Joint Working Committee NABau/FNL/NHRS: Energy performance of buildings") and published as a prestandard.
