Overview
DIN V 18599-7 applies to heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems of non-residential buildings and uses the energy need for room conditioning calculated as described in DIN V 18599-2 and the energy need for air handling (heating, cooling and humidification) calculated as described in DIN V 18599-3. The methods described enable calculation of the heat output for heating functions of the HVAC system. The values calculated are output values for the calculations described in DIN V 18599-5. Furthermore, the (net) generator cooling output for room conditioning and air handling cooling functions is determined and the delivered energy for refrigeration equipment (electrical energy) and the generator heat output for the thermal chillers are calculated with the aid of a method for cooling generation based on characteristic values; these are then used as output values for the calculations in DIN V 18599-5. In the same way, the final energy necessary for steam humidification (electrical energy, gas and oil) is calculated. Additional methods for calculating the energy requirements of the chilled water and cooling-water distribution pumps as well as of any other pumps and ancillary drives needed are described. DIN V 18599-7 has been approved by NA 005-56-20 GA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss NABau/FNL/NHRS: Energetische Bewertung von Gebäuden" ("Joint Working Committee NABau/FNL/NHRS: Energy performance of buildings") and published as a prestandard.
