DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering

Overview

The standard contains the raw material, production and finished product requirements (geometrical properties, surface characteristics, mechanical resistance, resistance and reaction to fire, acoustic and thermal properties and durability) with the corresponding test methods and evaluation of conformity of clay blocks for use in beam-and-block floor systems. Classes are specified for dimensional tolerances, minimum dimensions and mechanical resistance. One of the two classes for mechanical resistance contains the requirement applicable in Germany for these products regarding transverse breaking load. This amendment to EN 15037-3 updates the standard with regard to specifications concerning interpretation of results and test report. Furthermore, the invalid reference to the usage of websites within the framework of the provision of information for CE marking has been deleted. This reference has resulted to the fact that DIN EN 15037-2 has been still held back on a national level. The standard is now published as a consolidated version and includes Amendment 1. The standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 229 "Precast concrete products" (secretariat: AFNOR, France). The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-06-14 AA "Deckenziegel" ("Floor bricks") at DIN.
