DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering

Overview

This standard applies to extension measurements which have been carried out within the framework of investigations in soil and rock in accordance with DIN 4020, DIN EN 1997-1 and DIN EN 1997-2 and on and in buildings with extensometers and convergence tapes. It shall be applied in connection with DIN 4107-1. The purposes and fields of application are - supervision of stability of geotechnical objects before, during and after construction (for example, slopes, embankments, excavation enclosures, foundations, dam plants, landfills, tunnels); - determination of soil and rock displacements (for example, for comparison with predicted values within the framework of the observational method according to DIN 1054 and DIN EN 1997-1, and for verification of geotechnical calculation assumptions); derivation of characteristic values (for example, for load tests, test tunnels). The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-05-09 AA "Baugrund; Feldversuche (SpA zu CEN/TC 341/WG 2, WG 3 und WG 5)" ("Subsoil; field tests (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 341/WG 2, WG 3 and WG 5)") at DIN.
