Welding of ETFE foils for building applications - Part 4: Specification and qualification of welding procedures for ETFE foils - Welding procedure test
Abstract
This document specifies how a preliminary welding procedure specification is qualified by welding procedure qualifications. This document applies to production welding and repair welding. This document specifies the conditions for carrying out the welding procedure qualifications and the scope for all practical welding activities within the qualification according to this document. The main purpose of the welding procedure qualification is to demonstrate that the joining process proposed is suitable for producing joints that meet the mechanical properties of the intended properties of the intended application. Two levels of welding procedure qualification are specified to cover a large number of welded constructions. These are labeled Level 1 and Level 2. At level 2, the scope of testing is greater and the areas of application are more limited than for level 1. Welding procedure qualifications carried out at level 2 are automatically qualified for level 1, but not vice versa. If no level is specified in an order or an application standard, the requirements of level 2 apply. Level 1 is only valid for welding work on projects in execution class 1 (en: Execution classes, EXC 1) according to prCEN/TS 19102. level 2 is valid for welding work on projects of EXC 1, 2 and 3 according to prCEN/TS 19102.
