Thermal insulation and energy economy in buildings - Supplement 2: Thermal bridges - Examples for planning and performance; Corrigendum 1
Abstract
This supplement contains examples of planning and performance in order to avoid thermal bridges. It includes diagrams of the details of connections in building construction. Only examples of planning and performance in relation to thermal insulation are given. Other requirements relating to the physical and structural aspects of buildings are specified in existing regulations and shall be complied with. The specified heat transfer coefficients are reference values and serve exclusively to demonstrate the equivalence of other connection modifications not shown in the supplement. The conditions and boundary conditions specified in this supplement only apply to the verification by calculation of the examples given in this supplement. They can also be used instead of the approaches according to DIN EN ISO 10211 and DIN EN ISO 13370 for the detailed determination of length-related heat transfer coefficients for the calculation of a project-related heat transfer failure. This supplement does not deal with all types of thermal bridges occurring in buildings.
