About NAAutomobil
DIN Standards Committee Automotive (NAAutomobil) represents the German standardization interests in the field of Road Vehicles on the national, European and international level. The scope of NAAutomobil includes: standardization concerning compatibility, interchangeability and safety for road vehicles as defined in DIN 70010 (agricultural tractors excluded) independent of the type of propulsion, such as internal combustion engine, electric motor or hybrid vehicles; standardization of freight containers, swap bodies and vehicle bodies (excluded are fire fighting vehicles and ambulances as well as municipal vehicles); standardization of components and equipment for road vehicles.
NAAutomobil promotes rationalisation and quality assurance in automobile design, together with user-friendliness, ease of maintenance and environmental compatibility of the vehicle. It also contributes to the current state of the art in technology and science for the increase of vehicle and traffic safety, to the benefit of both consumers and manufacturers.
