Overview
This European Standard specifies dimensions, tolerances, materials, internal and external surface characteristics, and marking of stainless steels longitudinally fusion welded tubes for the food and chemical industry. In addition to the chemical industry, theses tubes are mainly applied in the food and beverage industries and also in the dairy processing industry. The particularly high requirements for the quality of the internal surface of the tubes provides for minimizing the microbiological impact surface and thus, hygienic processing of the products. The committees responsible for this standard are NA 021-00-09-05 UA "Rohre aus nichtrostendes Stählen" ("Stainless steel tubes") and NA 003-01-14 AA "Armaturen für die Lebensmittelindustrie" ("Valves for the food industry") at DIN.
