Stainless steel components for hygienic applications in the food industry – Part 2: Flange connections

Abstract

This document specifies dimensions, design and materials of flanged pipe connection with o-ring for hygienic applications in the food industry, for butt welding of pipes with dimensions according to DIN 11866 and DIN EN 10357, Series A and C. The flanged pipe connections are designed for the following allowable pressures: - outside diameter of pipe from 12,7 mm to 41,0 mm: 2,5 Mpa (25 bar); - outside diameter of pipe from 42,4 mm to 104,0 mm: 1,6 MPa (16 bar); - outside diameter of pipe from 114,3 mm to 154,0 mm: 1,0 MPa (10 bar). If used with appropriate materials for the gasket, these pressures can be used with temperatures from -10 °C to +140 °C.
