Steering Committee of DIN Standards Committee Foundry Practice
The Standardization Committee for Foundry Technology (GINA) is responsible for the national, European and international standardization in the field of foundry technology.It prepares standards for rod iron materials, (grey cast irons, malleable cast irons, spheroidas graphite cast irons, austempered and spheroidal ductile cast irons, high alloy cast irons and abrasion cast irons) as well as standards for surface inspection and non-destructive testing (radiographic inspection, ultrasonic inspection) of castings and standards for tolerances on dimensions and form, standards for the patterns, pattern equipment and coreboxes for the production of sand moulds and sand cores.About 55 standards and draft standards have been published.The main activities concentrate at present on the European standardization in the technical committee CEN/TC 190 Foundry technology, the secretariat of which is held by GINA.On the international level GINA is actively involved in the works of ISO/TC 25 Cast irons and pig irons as well as in preparation of standards for tolerances in ISO/TC 213 Dimensional and geometrical product specifications and verification.
