Cold-forming taps - Part 2: Technical delivery conditions for carbide cold-forming taps
Gewindefurcher - Teil 2: Technische Lieferbedingungen für Gewindefurcher aus Hartmetall
Overview
Cold-forming taps are increasingly also made of hard metal. The technical delivery conditions according to DIN 2175 have so far only been provided for high-speed steel tools, but are also used in practice for cold-forming taps made of hard metal. In order to meet this trend, two parts have been specified for the revision of DIN 2175 in order to improve comprehensibility and user-friendliness. DIN 2175-1: The technical delivery conditions specified in this document apply to all standardized high-speed steel cold-forming taps. The term thread forming is defined in DIN 8583-5. For non-standardised, for example cold-forming taps according to drawings, these technical delivery conditions can be agreed between customer and supplier - see also explanations of DIN 13-50. DIN 2175-2: The technical delivery conditions specified in this document apply to all standardised cold-forming taps made of hard metal. The term cold-forming tap is defined in DIN 8583-5. For non-standardised cold-forming taps, for example, cold-forming taps according to drawings, these technical delivery conditions can be agreed between customer and supplier - see also explanations of DIN 13-50. These standards have been prepared by developed by the DIN standards committee tools and clamping devices (FWS), Working Committee NA 121-01-04 AA "Gewindebohrer und Schneideisen" ("Taps and dies").
