Fire-fighting equipment for fire-fighting and rescue service vehicles - Part 4: Tool chest for chimney
Feuerwehrtechnische Ausrüstung für Feuerwehrfahrzeuge - Teil 4: Schornstein-Werkzeugkasten
Overview
Tools frequently used for fire-fighting purposes in case of chimney fires are stored in a tool chest for chimney. The chest is carried along as fire-fighting equipment on some fire-fighting and rescue service vehicles. The tool chest for chimney is subdivided into one tool set for cleaning the ground floor areas (such as cellar, living area) according to Table 1 and one tool set for cleaning the upper areas (roof) according to Table 2; both tool sets are stored within one tool chest. Regarding the equipment, standardized tools have been chosen where possible. The standard points out that, in case of possible spatial and dimensional reserves, the loading of the boxes may be supplemented as desired. This standard edition represents a consolidated version of the standard into which all modifications have been incorporated. The following reason is given for the modification of the previous edition DIN 14800-4 of February 2005: - the dividers are specified in the relevant individual standards for fire equipment boxes; - in the future, a permanently installed divider for most fire equipment boxes will be possible in addition to a variable divider. In this standard, the requirements for dividers have been deleted. This standard differs from DIN 14008-4:2005-02 as follows: a) the requirements for dividers in clause 5 and clause 6 have been deleted; b) marking has been revised; c) the standard has been editorially revised. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-04-09 AA "Sonstige Ausrüstung - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 5" ("Other equipment - mirror committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 5") at DIN.
