DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices

Overview

The technical specifications laid down in this standard are applicable for all standardized hand and machine reamers with shank, high-speed steel cutting edges or carbide cutting inserts for reaming cylindrical bores. The revision of this standard is based on the update of the requirements for the centre hole or centre point. The specifications regarding the designations of high-speed steel groups according to DIN ISO 11054 remain unchanged. For the cutting part material of core drills or reamers according to this standard, reference is made to high-speed steel according to DIN EN ISO 4957. For carbide core drills or reamers with cutting inserts, the standard types are classified according to the application groups in DIN ISO 513. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-01-03 AA "Senker, Aufbohrer und Reibahlen aus Schnellarbeitsstahl und Schneiden aus Hartmetall" ("Countersinks, core drills and reamers of high-speed steel and hard metal tips") at the Tools and Clamping devices Standards Committee (FWS) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V.
