Tools for woodworking - Safety requirements - Part 2: Requirements for the shank of shank mounted milling; German version EN 847-2:2013
Maschinen-Werkzeuge für Holzbearbeitung - Sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen - Teil 2: Anforderungen für den Schaft von Fräswerkzeugen; Deutsche Fassung EN 847-2:2013
Overview
This European Standard specifies the determination of the maximum speed for given eccentricity at clamping devices for the shank strength of milling tools with cylindrical shank and their marking. It is applied to shank mounting milling tools for woodworking, whether they are clamped vertically or horizontally, and it complements EN 847-1. Bore mounted tools which are mounted on an arbour shall be considered as a shank mounted tool. The content of this document is aimed at eliminating hazards which can lead to overloading of the shank of shank mounted milling tools for woodworking by excessive rotational speeds. This document has been prepared by WG 8 "Woodworking tools - Safety" (secretariat: UNI, Italy) of CEN/TC 142 "Safety of woodworking tools" (secretariat: UNI, Italy). The responsible German working committee is NA 121-01-18 AA (previous designation FWS-B 4.4) "Sicherheit von Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen" ("Safety of woodworking tools") at FWS.
